The World According to Monsanto

Years ago I saw a documentary called “The world according to Monsanto”, directed by Marie-Monique Robin, that shocked me to dead. On Monsanto’s website they are shown as an agriculture company that helps farmers and produces healthier food. I remember that at that time I was really interested into vegetarianism and that stuff and so I used to look for loads of information. And seeing this documentary meant a lot for me, I think it changed my life in a way. Through the years I became vegetarian and a little more conscious about the whole environmental thing (as much as I can of course, I try to do my best) And a few weeks ago, when I heard about Monsanto in Chile, and specially when I heard about a LAW which allows Monsanto to re-sell and manipulate our native seeds to do who knows what with them I found it SICK. How can anybody in their mind think that Monsanto is good? Come on you damn politicians, Monsanto owns 90% of the genetically modified organisms grown on the planet! THEY ARE ALL GENETICALLY MODIFIED, they have been working with chemicals and killing our environment since I don’t remember when, I think over 50 years! If you saw this documentary you would be able to understand how incredibly terrible it is not only for our country but for our planet this evil industry! The politicians really made a mistake on this one, and I really don’t know what are we paying them for if they are doing things without even concerning about the future of us.

Here’s the link so you can watch the doc:

I promise you will find it amazingly interesting but in a way it contains information that you may not want to know.

Bye everybody, see you next week!

Why do i always forget about the blog thing! Ahahah, if I don’t do it in class then I immediately forget it!

Well, unfortunately I don’t have many pictures as I wish because I deleted my facebook account, so I did some research in the depths of my notebook information and I found this one…I know it’s a crappy picture, you can barely tell something about it but the only action of seeing that blurry thing for me means a lot! That day me and my friends decided to do something different (which means not partying, dancing, clubbing, drinking, whatever) and we took a car and drove until we couldn’t get higher. Then we took our stuff and started walking through the path in the middle of the night (it’s a very dangerous thing, don’t you ever do it) we finally sat down in silence, started drinking tea and eating the cake we did before taking the trip. That night we talked loads, hugged and realized how beautiful friendship is (I know it sounds corny) we stayed there for ours, just us, the moon and the nature at night, it was amazing because we relaxed a lot, it was a blurry night with some blurry thoughts but amazing. I love my friends and the crazy ideas we have sometimes, of course this is part of the story that you can read…the rest is all secret ahahaha

I’m sorry for the picture and the poor story, I promise that when I recover part of the pics I’ve got I’ll tell you more things…

bye!

Oh, i forgot to say that the picture is the view of Santiago, it was taken by my friend Kena and well, the location and our state of mind is secret ahaha! Just kidding.

The Strike

If there is one thing that makes me mad about people, especially when they are my close friends, is that they vote to go on a strike and then they don’t even appear, they do it every time to have more time and do their stuff (whatever it is).
I think that the decision is too important to give a shit about it. And I’m sorry about the words I’m using but I’m really pissed off with the attitude of some. This strike and this moment we are living in is crucial! We are directly involved with the decisions taken by the people “governing” us, and we have the right to express ourselves because we live in democracy and it’s our constitutional right to express the discontent or bliss, whatever the situation is.
I really think we have to keep on going with strikes, manifestations, yelling and whatever thing is good for us to show our discontent (except destroying street furniture of course) The guys governing us suck and we have to make sure they know that THEY ARE NOT DOING THEY WORK as it should be.
I hate this topic, it really makes me mad and makes me wanna cry I don’t know…it’s so sad that they are not listening to us…

bye everybody, see you in the next strike!

p.s: cheers to miss B ‘cause I saw her in the strike but I was too breathless to say hi! Hahaha I’m sorry for that miss.

Cuevana...you rock my world!

Cuevana…you rock my world!

Well, thinking on my favorite website is not easy for me… I know I know…I spend hours of my day on internet but I don’t  think I have a website that I need to visit every time (obviously not including Twitter, which for me is kind of addictive) If I had to choose a site that makes me happy on my poor boredom moments , that would be “Cuevana”.  Cuevana is a website where people upload movies, documentaries, TV shows, music gigs or whatever you can imagine you could watch on your Tv.

The good thing of ‘cuevana’ is that you have to pay nothing to watch movies; you can watch them whenever you want and its audio and video quality is very, very good! You can also find Movies or Tv series that haven’t even arrived here in theaters or cable.

The first time I heard about this website was when I was complaining that I couldn’t find a movie, It was no-where on the internet and of course I was not going to rent it or something,  I just needed to watch it immediately! Hahahah so a friend told me about ‘cuevana’ and I was like..ok I’m going to try that one…and my movie was there! In really high quality. I felt so happy… J

Since then I watch movies in cuevana every time I ‘m bored or I want to procrastinate haahah…

here’s the link guys if you wanna visit it: (of course you know it, but anyway...)

A song that I like...

A song that I’ve been listening a lot today is "The ground beneath her feet", it was written by U2 for a movie called "The Million Dollar Hotel".

The first time I heard it was in the movie which, by the way, is quite underrated and underground despite of the great actors it has (Mel Gibson, Milla Jovovich). I loved it the first time because it absolutely represents the feelings expressed in the movie, and as the movie was so intense and deep, the song made me feel the same way the actors did ahahaha!

Basically it’s an alternative pop song about the feelings “Tom” had about “Eloise”. Tom was a guy with some kind of mental deficit and Eloise was a girl who was absolutely out of her mind. The music and the lyrics are so well done (In my opinion of course) that I just love it, and every time I listen to it, it makes me remind the whole movie and the interesting story of love that never could actually happen.

So here is the video, I hope you guys have the opportunity of watching this movie, it’s great, interesting, but way different than the rest of movies starred by the actors I named before. Put attention to the video and music....I just love that song!!!

My husband: The Ipod

I have always been a music lover, since I was a child I've been collecting cassettes, vinyls and CDs, every time i had some money i used to go immediately to the music shop and buy discs or whatever I could find related to the music i liked.

When I was a teenager my grandmother gave me my first Sony Walkman CD player and since then I couldn't stop carrying my CDs in a huge case everywhere. What a task! The fact is that i actually never really cared much about it, i had my music wherever and whenever i wanted but the only thing i hated about it was that i never had enough room to put all of my music, so at the beginning of every week i used to choose the CDs i wanted to play from Monday to Sunday...

When the Mp3 trend started i hated it, the music quality was the worst ever! i was so used to my CD player that i never bought an mp3 until one day i heard about the Ipods and the mp4 new stuff... 30 GB of music in a tiny little thing? Unbelievable!! So when I went to the USA i tried one of them and it sounded great, not like the old mp3s! I bought one immediately and since then i never stopped listening to my music, all of my music, videos and pictures in one! I've been using Ipods since 2005 and i absolutely love it, I consider myself an addicted to ipods. Now i own an Ipod Touch, but it's the same...i couldn't go back to the old days and carry my music in a huge case, there's no way I’m doing that! The only thing that hasn't really changed is that i still buying music in shops because of the sound quality, which for me is really important.

I love my ipod, I couldn’t live without it!

That’s it, my most beloved piece of technology!

See you guys!
